The Best New Retail in Paris – July 2024
Paris has always been known for its chic styles and fashion houses. However, this month sees the arrival of a different breed of store.
The Olympic buzz in the city has led to a range of sports brands launching stores and carrying out events and activities. Stores this month have created running clubs, sneaker walls, interactive displays and personalisation to tap into the athletic spirit.
Here are all the latest new Paris retail stores that we have found this month.
Hoka, Opéra
Sportswear brand Hoka has launched its first store in Paris.
The store’s design reflects the brand’s origin in the French Alps, with a decorative wall resembling a rock included as part of the interior. Natural woods and bright blue add an outdoors sky vibe to the store, and digital displays provide further information about the brand’s range of products.
As part of the launch, Hoka created a running club and will also hold a range of activities. Runners have been invited to a special event to test the brand’s range of high performance footwear, meet with other runners, and relax to live music.
Foot Locker, Westfield 4 Temps
Westfield 4 Temps sees the arrival of footwear brand Foot Locker, part of the brand’s new retail concept.
The store maintains the brand’s black and white branding but has zoned areas to encourage a new customer journey.
When customers enter the store, they will find the latest trainers and trending items, and moving deeper into the store will allow them to browse particular brands in more detail. The centre of the store contains a special area for people to try on trainers together, which the brand hopes will build community amongst “sneakerheads”.
The Sneaker Hub is where customers can get their footwear customised, with laces and other personalisation options. For shoppers that need more advice and support, the brand’s Stripers are available to provide guidance and order other products.
Zara Home, Rive Gauche
Paris has also seen the arrival of a special flagship with a difference. Zara Home’s new store is a pop-up to test the Parisian market for the brand’s home offering.
The location was specially chosen to situate Zara within an area of luxury boutiques and stores. The store is light and airy, with white, light and dark woods carefully chosen to give a premium feel.
Customers visiting the store can find a range of home fragrances, limited edition stationery and a café with Dose coffee. There are a number of limited edition items on offer here, including bags and notepads, and luxury flowers. Further inside, the store stocks the new sports items, including towelling and athletic clothing, and sport products developed with a range of collaborators.
The basement includes bedroom and baby products, and the upper mezzanine features a curated selection of women’s clothing and items from an art gallery in France.
Neuraé, Marais
Buzzy new cosmetic brand Neuraé has opened its new store in France.
Part of the Sisley Group, the brand hopes that the store functions as a hub for beauty fans. The range of skincare has been developed based around the idea that psychological states such as stress can affect the skin’s appearance. The products have been developed to tackle these skin issues, named after four positive emotions: energy, joy, harmony and serenity.
Customers can also explore their emotions by using a digital headband in-store, which maps brainwaves and creates an emotion picture. The store’s beauty consultants can then advise on the most suitable skincare.
The brand also hopes to offer a range of events on skincare and wellbeing.
Salomon, Champs-Élysées
Outdoor brand Salomon launched a new flagship store in Paris.
The store will carry a selection of the trainers and clothing for which it is well-known, in addition to a range of items for outdoor activities and sports.
The brand has included a large digital display which customers can view to find new products and information about items in store. There is also a fitting service with scans feet in 2D, and an impressive “sneaker wall” for a range of sportswear.
Salomon is also collaborating with a number of designers and brands to create new trainers.
Champion, Rue Saint-Honoré
Riding the wave of Gen Z 1990s nostalgia, sportswear brand Champion has launched its first space in Paris.
The store showcases a range of clothing inspired by Champion’s archives. The store itself has a vintage feel with light wood interior and gold fixtures. Fans of preppy clothing can find exact reproductions of previous Champion clothing, in the True to Archives collection, such as a hoodie from the 1950s.
Shoppers are also able to customise their retro looks, with a personalisation counter available when they go to pay, allowing them to add patches to their item.
